Courting DissensionThe way Fran Young sees it, the city already makes out like a bandit on the volunteerism of its many independent youth sports clubs and shouldn’t be dipping into the pockets of the folks who keep those clubs afloat.
Thousands of coaches and parents donate countless hours of service to keep kids active, engaged and out of trouble. “There’s sportsmanship and there’s a social aspect. [Kids] make friends and it brings their parents together. Somerton Youth Organization Receives AED from Holy Redeemer, Rep. Brendan Boyle CommentsHoly Redeemer Health System is pleased to announce the donation of an automated external defibrillator (AED) to Somerton Youth Organization. The AED was dedicated on Tuesday, September 11, 2012.
“Holy Redeemer has focused on the needs of women and their children since its founding in 1924,” said Russ Wagner, Chief Financial Officer. “Northeast Philadelphia is an important part of Holy Redeemer’s community. It made perfect sense to us that we should provide this lifesaving device to Somerton Youth Organization, which provides healthy options—like team sports—for children and families.” MORE... |
